POBNEWS24,Dhaka Jan 3, 2022: Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, called on the BNP to go for elections without raising the foam of rhetoric. He said this while briefing at his residence on Monday morning.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘Election is the criterion of what people want and what they don’t want. The Sheikh Hasina government is very sincere in holding a fair and participatory election.
Quader said, “It is not constitutionally acceptable in a democracy to go outside the election and look for any other lane.” These malpractices are against the democratic values.
He further said, “Even though the BNP talks about the war of liberation, their politics is with the anti-independence forces. The BNP talks of non-communalism along with communal extremism. Noting that the BNP’s words and deeds do not match, he said, “Double standard policy is one of the main obstacles in their politics.”
