POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 3, 2021 : Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed a new committee on Monday. The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir hopes the new committee will play a role in the movement to restore democracy in the country.
The BNP secretary general expressed this expectation after a meeting with the leaders of the newly formed convening committee of Mahanagar North-South at his residence in Uttara on Tuesday morning.
He said, “These two committees have been formed under the direction of our acting chairman Tareq Rahman. People across the country have high expectations for these two committees. These are all tested leaders. ”
Fakrul said, “In the current context of our politics, this is undoubtedly a very important decision. We hope that this committee will bring about a qualitative change in the politics of Bangladesh. They will play their role in the current undemocratic government that is destroying all our hopes and aspirations, will play a role in establishing democracy, for the release of Begum Khaleda Zia. ”
Mirza Fakhrul said, “The expectation of all of us is that this convening committee, which is very active, dynamic and effective, will soon organize the party and form a new working committee through a council.”
On Monday, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved a new convening committee of 47 members from the north led by Amanullah Aman and 49 members from the south led by Abdus Salam. Aminul Haque has become the member secretary of the north and Rafiqul Alam Majnu of the south.
Aman Ullah Aman, a member of the advisory council of the chairperson of the new convening party of Mahanagar Uttar, said, “Today, democracy is missing and one-party rule is in place. The country is being run through torture and undemocratic activities. ”
Aman Ullah Aman said, “If need be, we will fight for the removal of this new dictatorial, undemocratic, illegitimate, midnight government from state power through another mass uprising like the one in 1990.”
At this time Rafiqul Alam Majnu, Aminul Haque, Abdul Alim Noki, Tabitha Awal, Anwaruzzaman Anwar, Nabi Ullah Nabi, Yunus Mridha, Md. Mohan, Atiqul Islam Matin, Mosharraf Hossain Khokon, Mostafizur Rahman Segun, Ferdousi Ahmed Misti, SM Jahangir of Mahanagar Uttar Juba Dal, Shairul Kabir Khan of the chairperson’s office were present.
