POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Sep 16, 2022 : Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming attended the Contract Signing Ceremony of Bangladesh Insurance Sector Development Project, witnessed the contract signing between the Sinosoft Co. Ltd and the Bangladesh Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority and delivered a speech. Dr. Mohammad Jainul Bari, Chairman of Bangladesh Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, Dr Md. Kamruzzaman, Project Director of the project, and Mr Sun Xijie, Executive Senior Vice-President of Sinosoft Co. Ltd., also attended the ceremony on September 15.
In his speech, Ambassador Li pointed out that the successful contract signing of this Bangladesh Insurance Sector Development Project marks another big step forward in the technology cooperation between China and Bangladesh. Bangladesh has made remarkable achievement all these years. With continuous social-economic development in Bangladesh, insurance will play an increasingly important role and act as an important contributor to the modern financial industry in this country. A win-win cooperation will be achieved through this project and it will help to accelerate the process of informatization and digitization of Bangladesh’s insurance industry.
Ambassador Li also pointed out that the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation and the dream of “Sonar Bangla” are well interconnected. The Belt and Road Initiative and the Vision 2041 perspective plan will integrate further. He wished a great success of this project and hoped our two countries work together to enhance the technology cooperation to a higher level, to provide better services to the people and to work together for a shared future.
Dr. Mohammad Jainul Bari spoke highly of China’s cooperation in various fields of Bangladesh, such as trade, investment, mega projects and technology. In his words, China has played an “overwhelmingly positive” role in the development of Bangladesh. Projects such as Bangladesh Insurance Sector Development Project provide technical support from China to Bangladesh and will help to enhance capacity building in Bangladesh’s insurance industry.
All the attendees of the contract agreement signing ceremony wish a great success of this project and hope to deepen the cooperation between the two sides further in the future.
