POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sep 9, 2022 : The government has declared three days of national mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. Mourning will be observed for the next three days from today.
The National Flag will be kept at half-mast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, said the Cabinet Department. Chief Information Officer of the Ministry of Information, Surath Kumar Sarkar, confirmed this information on Friday.
It should be noted that after 70 years on the throne, the longest-reigning Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom has died. He was 96 years old. He was at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the time of his death. His death marked the end of an era of ups and downs in the British monarchy.
In a statement around midnight Bangladesh time on Thursday, Buckingham Palace said: ‘The Queen passed away peacefully this afternoon at Balmoral.’ Because of this poor health, the new Prime Minister broke with long-standing tradition and appointed Liz Truss to sit in Balmoral instead of Buckingham Palace. A scheduled online meeting two days ago was also cancelled.
