POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 7, 2022 : At least five Palestinians were killed in an attack by Israeli forces in the northern town of Jabalia in the Gaza Strip. Three children were also among the dead. Al-Jazeera reported this information on local media. According to the media, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 24 in two days of attacks.
Israeli airstrikes have continued in the Gaza Strip since last Friday. As a result of this, there were attacks on Saturday throughout the day. According to Al-Jazeera’s report, yesterday, Israel attacked civilian people and facilities across the Gaza Strip, including Jabalia.
However, Israel has denied killing civilians including children by attacking Jabalia. The country claims that no attack was carried out in that area. Rather, the explosion happened because the Palestinian jihadists failed to launch a rocket attack. And it has cost lives.
The death toll from two days of Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip has risen to 24. Among the dead are 6 children and a woman. At least 125 Palestinians were injured. The Ministry of Health of Palestine gave this information in a statement yesterday.
According to the United Nations, at least 40 Palestinian families have been displaced by the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza for two days. In addition, more than 650 local residences were damaged in the attack and 11 houses were destroyed, according to the Ministry of Housing of Palestine.
In response to the airstrikes, members of Palestinian armed groups fired rockets at various Israeli installations including Tel Aviv. The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, said that rockets and mortar attacks were targeted at several Israeli cities and various military installations in protest against the attack on Gaza. They fired 60 rockets at Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport, Ashdad, Beersheba, Ashkelon, Netivat and Dere.
Meanwhile, Egypt is trying to mediate between Israel and Palestine to reduce the tension caused by the death toll in the air strike. A statement from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that efforts are being made to protect people’s lives and property in Gaza. Cairo is in close contact with both sides for this. The statement did not say anything else.
