POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 30, 2022 :  AR Rahman, the magician of music, once again captivated the music lovers of Dhaka with his melody and melody. The popular composer, music director and vocalist of the subcontinent sang at the ‘Cricket Celebrities Mujib 100’ program organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The tune of this Oscar winning artist has also touched the hearts of countless more viewers and listeners on Tuesday evening thanks to TV.

Organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and sponsored by Bashundhara, the country’s leading industry group, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina enjoyed music as the chief guest in the second phase of this mega concert.

President and Member of Parliament of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazmul Hasan, BCB official Ismail Haider Mallick, Sheikh Sohail and others were present at the concert at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his wife Afroza Begum and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir and his wife Sabrina Sobhan enjoyed the program.

The first part of the program started with the performance of the national anthem in the afternoon. Then came the popular band Miles. ‘The moon is not the sun, you are not / You are not a mountain spring / If I say flower, it will still be wrong / You are not compared’ – Miles started with this song which is a super hit of the nineties. This band, one of the best in the country, entertained the audience by performing a few more of their famous songs.

Presenter Rumana Malik invited MP and popular musician Mamtaz Begum to the stage after the performance of Moonmoon Miles. Mumtaz started her new song with the song ‘Joy Mujibur, Joy Swadhinata, Bangladesh Joy’. Then they sang songs like ‘I don’t know what kind of life is given for any crime’, ‘My sleep was shattered by the cuckoo of death’, ‘Don’t listen to Nantu Ghatak’ and ‘Friend, you are a local bus’. Many spectators were embracing him with great enthusiasm.

The audience was eagerly waiting for AR Rahman and his team to host the second episode of the show. However, the Bersik rain has put their patience to the test. At the end of the rainy season, when AR Rahman came on the stage, the audience was overjoyed. Let this living legend reciprocate their love and fascination with one heartfelt song after another.

This is AR Rahman’s second visit to Bangladesh. Earlier also he came at the invitation of Bangladesh Cricket Board. The event titled ‘Cricket Celebrities Mujib 100’ was supposed to be held in 2020 at the initiative of BCB. However, Corona could not come because of the epidemic. He came two years later and won as always.

Songs about Bangladesh: AR Rahman and his co-artists sang songs till late at night. The distinguished guests including the Prime Minister and the audience sang ‘Joy Joy Joy Bangladesh’. Another of his songs was ‘Sonar Bangla’. Once another prominent name Hariharan came on the stage. Another surprise around midnight. The late music legend Lata Mangeshkar recently ‘appeared’ on stage with the help of digital technology. AR Rahman matched his recorded voice. The magical atmosphere of the melody is created. Artist Rashid Ali sang while playing the guitar. There was also a performance of instrumental music.
