POBNEWS24, Dhaka Apr 4, 2025 : Dhaka has sought extradition of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina during a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today.
Talking to BSS, he said various issues of mutual interest, including the extradition of Sheikh Hasina, were raised by Bangladesh during the meeting.
Alam said, “The 30-minute meeting was very constructive and fruitful as both leaders discussed all issues of mutual interest.”
The issue of Sheikh Hasina’s provocative statements delivering from India was raised at the meeting, he said.
Besides, he said, fruitful discussions on border killings and Teesta River water sharing were also held.
After assuming charge of the interim government by Prof Yunus, this was the first meeting between the Indian Premier and the Bangladesh Chief Adviser.
