POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 8, 2021 :Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the diplomats of the country to fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity to provide proper services to the expatriate Bangladeshis across the world besides increasing trade and commerce.

The Prime Minister made the call while inaugurating the extended section of the Virtual Bangladesh High Commission Building (BHC) from her residence in London on Sunday (November 8th).

Addressing the diplomats, Sheikh Hasina said, “You (diplomats) are needed to provide proper services to the expatriates and their well-being.” He also mentioned that expatriate Bangladeshis all over the world are contributing for the country.

The Prime Minister said in the present era, in fact, diplomacy is not just political diplomacy, it has turned into economic diplomacy. He said, “Bangladesh is moving forward, Bangladesh will move forward, and no one will ever be able to pull Bangladesh back.”

Sheikh Hasina said in today’s world no one can go ahead and improve alone. Now a concerted effort is also needed. With this in mind, every diplomatic mission has a huge responsibility. He called upon the concerned authorities to take steps to increase exports and investment as well as socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister said the government is working towards this goal following the foreign policy given by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He said, “Bangladesh is no longer lagging behind, but is moving forward with the status of a developing country and is becoming a developed country by retaining this status.”

The English Heritage Blue Plague and the Marble Plague has opened in a new building next to the existing BHC to provide more services to expatriate Bangladeshis.
