POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 11, 2021: The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and mobile operators are going to introduce the facility of sending text to Facebook Messenger in case of emergency even if there is no internet in the mobile. For this, ‘Facebook Messenger and Discover App for communication only through text’ will be launched. At the same time BTRC will also publish ‘Mobile Data Package Guidelines’.
The ‘Mobile Data Package Guide and Facebook Messenger and Discover App via Text Only’ will be unveiled at a press conference at BTRC conference room on Tuesday at 12 noon. BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder presided over the ceremony, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar and Secretary. Khalilur Rahman will be present.
An official of BTRC said, not everyone always has data (internet). This facility is being introduced jointly by the operators so that the customers can send texts without data. He added that at present, customers are overwhelmed by the various packages of the operators. Packages need to be disciplined. For this ‘Mobile Data Package Guide’ has been prepared.
