POBNEWS24.Net, Mar 15, 2021: The Bangladesh government has organized a 10-day program from March 18 to 26 to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence. There will be foreign guests for five days out of 10 days of the program. Apart from this, heads of different countries, heads of international organizations and important people will also be present. The program of these days will start at 4:30 pm and will end at 8 pm. There will be discussion meetings and cultural programs every day. The five-day event can accommodate up to 500 spectators. They will have to undergo covid test before the ceremony. The test will be effective for 48 hours. Five centers have also been fixed for the test.

The event will be held at the National Parade Ground till March 26 under the theme ‘Mujib Chirantan’. At this time, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has started blockade to ensure the safety of domestic and foreign VVIP guests. Besides, the police have taken steps to ensure the safety of the VVIP guests on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti.

On Monday (March 15) at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) said. Benazir Ahmed said a 10-day program has been organized in the country from March 18 to 26 to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.

He said the heads of state of five countries would come to Bangladesh to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of independence. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will provide maximum security to them. It is our state responsibility to provide security to VVIPs. It is being requested to restrict the movement from 16th to 26th March if there is not much need. The IGP requested the political parties not to give any program in these days.

It is learned that the police have taken measures to ensure the safety of the VVIP guests on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti and to attend the festival. Foreign guests will stay at Sonargaon Hotel on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti.

Blockade is being carried out to stop unnecessary chats, public gatherings as well as terrorist activities.

DMP Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sajjadur Rahman said the police were working as per the strict instructions given by the DMP to ensure security on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti. Blockade is being carried out in Ramna area as a strict measure to prevent any untoward incident during Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti.

RAB-2 Commander (CO) Lieutenant Colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar told Jago News that RAB-2 would have special patrol and intelligence surveillance to ensure security on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti. Measures are also being taken to prevent militant groups from doing anything in the surrounding area. So far there is no threat of any kind. He also requested the media to share any information they have.

On Sunday (March 14) on the occasion of Mujibvarsha and Subarna Jayanti, the acting commissioner of DMP (head of the special branch of the police) Md. Monirul Islam said there was no room for compromise on security during the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of independence. In this case, the maximum security measures will be in force in accordance with the international VVIP security protocol. There are no security risks at the upcoming festival. The acting commissioner of DMP called for utmost vigilance with utmost importance.

He said strict legal action would be taken against those who are or will be holding anti-Modi rallies ahead of the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bangladesh.

Urging the political parties not to hold political programs during the celebrations of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence, the acting DMP commissioner said, “VVIPs will come so I request them not to hold any political programs.”

He said there could be some traffic problems during the event from March 18 to 26. For this, I am requesting to go out for office-court or examination before the scheduled time. The people have to sacrifice so much for the honor of the state.

The SB chief further said that extensive development work is being done on the roads of the capital. As a result, most of the roads are having traffic problems. On the occasion of inviting foreign guests for the upcoming festival, there will be some disruption in some roads. He requested the city dwellers to get out a little before the scheduled time if they want to go somewhere.
