POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jun 3, 2022 : Hajj flight from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport will start on June 15. All flights will be operated by Bangladesh Biman and luxury Boeing 8 aircraft. Apart from Bangladesh Biman, Saudi Airlines and Fly Nas operate flights from Dhaka, but those two foreign airlines do not have flights from Chittagong.
When asked, Biman Bangladesh Chittagong Airport Acting Manager Salim Ullah told Kaler Kanth, ‘Our Hajj flight will start from June 15 and will continue till July 2.
Out of 11 flights Chittagong-Medina 2 and Chittagong-Jeddah 9 flights. Apart from these 11 flights, passengers will also be transported on regular scheduled flights of Bangladesh Biman.
He said, “We are expecting to transport about five and a half thousand Hajj passengers from Chittagong.” Apart from 11 dedicated or uninterrupted Hajj flights, Bangladesh Biman will transport Hajj passengers on 4 scheduled or regular flights per week.
It is to be noted that according to the announcement of Saudi Arabia, this time 56 thousand Hajj pilgrims will go for Hajj from Bangladesh. Half of the total passengers will go to Saudi Airlines and Fly Nass Airlines. The other half is on Bangladesh Biman. Of these, 5500 will go for Hajj from Chittagong.
Shah Alam, president of Hajj Agencies Association Chittagong, told Kaler Kanth that he hoped the pilgrims would be able to fly from Chittagong without any hindrance. Passengers from Chittagong will go directly to Saudi Arabia from Chittagong Airport and will return directly to Chittagong. As a result there will be no suffering.
It is learned that after the directive of the Ministry of Religion on May 26, the cost of government management package-1 has been increased by Tk 59,000, resulting in an increase of Tk 5 lakh 8 thousand 340. Earlier this cost was 5 lakh 26 thousand 340 rupees. And package-2 will now cost 5 lakh 21 thousand 150 rupees per person. Earlier it was 4 lakh 72 thousand 150 rupees. Apart from this, the cost of Hajj package will be 5 lakh 22 thousand 744 rupees without the cost of sacrifice under private management. Before the increase in one phase, the cost was 4 lakh 63 thousand 744 rupees.
