POBNEWS24.Net, Mar 15, 2021:Yemen’s Houthi rebel group has claimed responsibility for a series of drone strikes on a Saudi airport. Yahya Saria, a spokesman for the Houthi rebel group, said three drones had struck at Abha Airport and King Khalid Airport in the town of Khamis Mushait. The Saudi-led coalition said it had repelled a drone strike.
Riyadh did not immediately confirm the attack. But the Saudi coalition says it has repelled a drone strike targeting Khamis Mushait on Monday morning. Earlier this month, the Saudi coalition said it had repelled drone and missile attacks targeting several locations. Over the past few months, drone and missile attacks targeting various locations in Saudi Arabia from Yemen have increased.
Earlier this month, the Saudi Aramco oil factory in Ras Tanura was attacked. In addition to acknowledging the attack on the oil plant at the time, Houthi rebels claimed that they had targeted several military bases in the Saudi cities of Dammam, Asir and Jazan.
