POBNEWS24, Dhaka, July 5, 2023 : International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan, who is on a state visit to Bangladesh to resolve the Rohingya issue, today visited the National Headquarters of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Bangladesh.
During the visit, he held a meeting with National Ameer of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Maulana Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury, National Executive Council and some prominent members of Jamaat.
Incidentally, Mr. Karim himself is a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Netherlands.
In the meeting, he discussed the overall activities and current situation of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat with the members.
He praised the activities of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Bangladesh. He recalled with deep respect the contribution of Ahmadi Muslims of Bangladesh to national service.
Karim Ahmad Khan said, inspired by the great teachings of Islam, Ahmadi Muslims worldwide are loyal to their respective countries and are always ready to sacrifice everything in the service of the country.
National Ameer Maulana Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury said that in 2017, when about one million Rohingya refugees took refuge in Bangladesh, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat conducted humanitarian service activities in Rohingya camps for about six months with the permission and cooperation of the government.
National Amir said, despite having thousands of problems of its own, Bangladesh has set a rare example in front of the world by providing shelter to one million new Rohingya refugees for purely humanitarian reasons.
He called upon Karim to play a role in the rehabilitation of Rohingyas by highlighting this courageous and humanitarian role of Bangladesh before the world.
Karim Ahmad offered two rakat Nafal prayers in the Ahmadiyya mosque on the eve of his departure.
