POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 20, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed hope that the import of fuel oil from India will start through the pipeline next year. He said, ‘Bangladesh wants to import oil from India through the pipeline. Hopefully it can be started next year. ‘
Sheikh Hasina said this during the Prime Minister’s courtesy meeting with Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimari at Ganabhaban today (November 20).
After the meeting, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim informed the journalists about this information.
The 130 km long India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) project aims to export oil products from India to Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina also said that the border huts between Bangladesh and India will be reopened in different parts of the border line of the two countries due to the closure during the Corona period.
