POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 12, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway project. Inauguration ceremony was organized at the stock yard of the project in Tongabari area of Ashulia on Saturday (November 12) morning. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader attended the ceremony virtually from Ganobhaban at 10 am. Later, the Prime Minister announced the inauguration at 11 o’clock.
The 24 km expressway will connect Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with Abdullahpur, Ashulia, Bypail and Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) on Nabinagar-Chandra highway. The project officials said that the vehicles will have to pay toll in case of using the expressway.
In the event, the local member of parliament, state minister for disaster and relief Dr. Enamur Rahman was present. At that time, local Awami League leaders and activists, officials related to the project were also present.
