POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 24 , 2022 : Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque said, “Bangladesh is not India, India can think of becoming Bangladesh.”
He said that many people say that Awami League means the country belongs to India, can we think of India being Bangladesh. We are ahead in average life expectancy. Where our average life expectancy is 74 years, it is 65 years in India
He made the remarks at a discussion meeting and unveiling of organizational flag organized by ‘Generation 70 Bangladesh’ at the Abdus Salam Auditorium of the National Press Club on Thursday (March 24).
The Liberation War Minister said that Bangladesh is ahead of India in maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate, sanitation, water management.

“We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country – there is a gap in this,” he said. We were in power for 21 and a half years. The other party was in power for 29 years. He further said that without accountability, they have no chance of development. A government plans for eight years but our government plans for a hundred years. The minister said the country had become independent through an unequal war. India gave us 100 year old Three Knot Rifles. And the Pakistanis had sophisticated weapons. We could not stand in front of them for even three minutes. Our big weapon was patriotism. Being young at that time, we were able to take part in the war. Now at this age there was no possibility of fighting. The freedom fighters have freed us. Now we have to hold on to this liberation of the young generation.
