POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 25, 2024 : In the 10 months from July to April of the current fiscal year (2023-24), foreigners living in Bangladesh took 130.58 million dollars to their respective countries, said Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali. Out of this, Indians took home 50.60 million dollars.
Finance Minister said these things in reply to the question of Abdul Quader Azad, Member of Parliament of Faridpur-3 Constituency in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday (June 24). Speaker Shirn Sharmin Choudhury presided over the question and answer table.
The finance minister said that the annual income information of foreign nationals living in Bangladesh is not stored in Bangladesh Bank. From July to April of the current financial year (2023-24), foreign nationals living in Bangladesh took home 130.58 million dollars from their income.
Giving the information about how many dollars the citizens of any country have taken, the minister said, Indians have taken 50.60 million dollars, Chinese 14.56 million dollars, Sri Lankans 12.71 million dollars, Japanese 6.89 million dollars, Koreans 6.21 million dollars. Besides, Thailand 5.30 million dollars, United Kingdom 3.59 million dollars, Pakistan 3.24 million dollars, United States 3.17 million dollars, Malaysia 2.40 million dollars and citizens of other countries took 21.92 million dollars to their country.
