POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 24, 2022 : Awami League Women’s Affairs Secretary IV Rahman’s 18th death anniversary today. He was injured in a grenade attack on August 21, 2004 and breathed his last on August 24 while undergoing treatment. Awami League will celebrate his death anniversary through various programs.
In 2004, IV Rahman joined Awami League’s anti-terrorism rally in front of the party office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
He was sitting at the front of the stage with the women workers of the party. His two legs were severed in a grenade attack. He was admitted to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital. IV Rahman was declared dead on August 24 while undergoing treatment there.
On the occasion of the day, Awami League will pay respects at his grave at Banani cemetery at 8 am today. Leaders of the Central Executive of Awami League, President of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League, General Secretary and Associate Organization President, General Secretaries will participate in this program in accordance with health protection rules.
