POBNEWS24, Dhaka, June 7, 2022 : Japanese Ambassador Ito Nike said that Japan witnessed the last national election of Bangladesh. We were also concerned about the violence in that election. We hope that the next national election will be better than before. The election will be fair and acceptable
The Japanese ambassador made the remarks in response to a question on Decab Talk at the National Press Club on Tuesday (June 6). In response to another question, the Japanese Ambassador said that the Indo-Pacific Economic Forum is a US initiative. Bangladesh needs to understand whether Bangladesh will join this forum or not. But we want to build a free and open Indo-Pacific. So that all countries can benefit.
Answering the Arab question, Ito Naoki said that Japan wants to supply military equipment to Bangladesh. Bangladesh can take cooperation in this regard if it wants. “We want to start direct flights between Dhaka and Tokyo very soon,” he said. It was not possible to start because of the Kavid situation.
Ito Naoki also said that Japan is implementing several mega projects in Bangladesh. Metrorail is one of them. The first phase will be launched in December. We hope that the people of this city will be able to travel in comfort with the launch of Metrorail.
Regarding the Rohingya crisis, the Japanese ambassador said that Japan wants a solution to the Rohingya crisis. Although small in number, it is important to start repatriating Rohingya quickly.
