POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jan 23, 2024: Jatiya Hindu Mohajote held different programmes across the country today on the occasion of inauguration of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya in India.
The programmes held at districts and upazilas include fasting, Shree Ram Chandra Puja, procession, Ramnam Mahamantra chanting, prasad distribution in the afternoon and Mongal lamp lighting programme at houses and temples in the evening.

The place where the temple was built is one of the most controversial religious sites in India. There was once a Babri mosque built in the 16th century.
The mosque was demolished in 1992 by the Hindu crowd claiming that the mosque was built by destroying the Ram temple. Communal riots then broke out across the country, reportedly killing around 2,000 people.
On Monday, the Ram temple’s inauguration ceremony was attended by guests from home and abroad – from political personalities to industrialists, sports and film stars.
Although a section of Hindus and almost all leaders of opposition parties boycotted the event, alleging that Mr. Modi is using it for political gain.
National elections are scheduled to be held in India shortly. The opposition alleges that the ruling BJP is trying to collect votes in the name of the temple.
In 2019, the Supreme Court of India ruled in the Ayodhya case that the disputed site of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya can be given to a trust and a Ram Temple can be built there.
Similarly, the Sunni Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh has been told that they will be given five acres of land where they can build a mosque
