In the speech of the chief guest at the function organized on the occasion of the day at Senakunj on Thursday (November 21) afternoon, he thanked Khaleda Zia for her welcome and participation.
Dr. Yunus said, Khaleda Zia is here among us today. He did not get a chance to participate in this grand convention for an age. Got a chance today. We are all happy and proud to give you (Khaleda Zia) this opportunity.
He said, Thank you for joining everyone on this special day despite physical illness. A special welcome to you on this occasion.
Meanwhile, the Chief Advisor wished Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery.
By attending this event at Senakunj, the former Prime Minister joined a program after half a century. He last visited Sylhet on February 5, 2018.
Khaleda Zia last attended an Armed Forces function in 2012. He was then the leader of the opposition. After that he was never seen again in this event of Senakunj. After going to jail in 2018 in a corruption case, he was not even invited again.
