POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 16, 2022 : BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has demanded the early and unconditional release of ‘house arrest’ Khaleda Zia.
BNP Secretary General made this demand at Khaleda Zia’s 78th birthday prayer ceremony at Naya Paltan central office on Tuesday afternoon.
Fakhrul said, he has struggled to restore this democracy, to practice democracy all his life. So far, he has been kept under house arrest in the case of the fascist Awami League government, which is terrible for this democracy.” He said, “The history of politics in Bangladesh is the country leader Begum Khaleda Zia.
“Our first condition is that the mother of democracy who has protected democracy, who has practiced democracy must be given early release and unconditional release. added Fakhrul.
BNP Secretary General said, “National leader Begum Khaleda Zia is not an ordinary leader. Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia is an institution. He fought for this democracy all his life, built his life democratically.
Khaleda Zia was born on August 15, 1945.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “The Awami League government, which is sitting in power illegally and by force, can only be compared with the invading forces of Pakistan. Just as the Pak invaders wanted to destroy the aspirations of the people of this country by torturing, killing and murdering them, in the same way today’s illegal unelected fascist government has destroyed all the hopes and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.
Fakhrul said, “For 15 years, they have seized power by using their fascist regime using state apparatus, creating terror through torture and torture.”
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We know this government will not go easily. There is no ground under their feet, no people with them. That is why we want to organize the people and organize all the political forces and we want to remove this government and bring in a government of the people.”
