POBNEWS24, Dhaka Feb 6, 2024 : Britain’s King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer. For this reason, he will refrain from participating in all kinds of public events for the time being. However, he will continue to perform his duties as the head of state while undergoing treatment.
Buckingham Palace gave this information in a statement on Monday.
The 75-year-old King Charles has full confidence in his medical recovery, the statement said. He also hopes to return to normal duties as soon as possible.
Charles spent three nights in hospital last month. There he was treated for his prostate. Another concern arose about his physical condition during his treatment at the hospital. While not saying what kind of cancer he had, the Palace said that King Charles did not have prostate cancer.
Charles became the King of Britain in September 2022 after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.
According to the BBC, the King has personally informed his two sons about his illness. After receiving the news, Prince Harry, who is in the United States, will soon come to London to see his father.
