POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sept 8, 2024 : The low pressure created in the Bay of Bengal has turned into a low pressure today. Due to this, the maximum sustained wind speed is 40 km per hour within 44 km of the low pressure center. Which is increasing up to 50 km in the form of gusts or gusts. As a result, the Meteorological Department has asked to show warning signal number three in the seaports of the country.
This information was informed in the special notification of the Meteorological Office on Sunday (September 8) morning.
According to the notification, the clear low pressure located in the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent northwest Bay of Bengal area is moving northwestward and concentrated in the same area in the form of low pressure. It was 710 km west-southwest of Chittagong seaport, 670 km west-southwest of Cox’s Bazar seaport, 575 km southwest of Mongla seaport and 575 km southwest of Payra seaport at 6 am today. It may move further north-westwards and intensify.
Due to the influence of low pressure, there is a lot of pressure variation over the North Bay of Bengal area. Gust or gusty winds may blow over North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and sea ports.
The maximum sustained wind speed is 40 kmph within 44 km of the low pressure center. It is growing up to 50 km in the form of gusts.
Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show local warning signal number three.
Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed cautiously close to the coast until further notice.
