POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 4, 2022 : Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen has said that more than 600 Bangladeshis have crossed the border from Ukraine and reached Poland. He says most people in Ukraine now have families. They may not leave Ukraine. There are still about 100 Bangladeshis in Ukraine.
He was speaking to reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Friday (March 4th).
“We have requested the Indian embassy there to accompany the Bangladeshis if they are present during the rescue operation,” he said.
Asked whether the war would affect the Rooppur project, the secretary said, “I am discussing the impact of the embargo on the full range.” We are talking about this with various stakeholders. It will be decided after further meeting.
