POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 20, 2021 : Regarding the return of Rohingyas, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said that all countries of the world have unanimously called for the return of Rohingyas. The resolution has already been passed, which we have been trying for so long. All countries of the world have unanimously agreed that the Rohingya should return to their country. He made the remarks in response to a question from reporters after paying homage to Bangabandhu on behalf of the Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Saturday (November 20).

“We believe this will increase the pressure on Myanmar to take back the Rohingya,” he said. Myanmar has already told us that it will repatriate the Rohingya and create an environment for people to return to their homeland. But today, even though the 5th year has passed, they have not kept their word. “We hope that in the future, they will keep their word and take back the Rohingyas who have taken refuge in this country,” he said. The Foreign Minister further said that bilateral talks are continuing with Myanmar. Myanmar is the cause of this problem and only they can solve this problem.

Regarding the killings on the Indo-Bangladesh border, he said, “India and Bangladesh do not want a single person to be killed on the border.” This is very sad. The two governments have held discussions and meetings on the killings at the highest level. The Prime Minister of India has also discussed this with the Prime Minister of India personally and officially. The Indian government has also promised that not a single person will die at the border. No one from the government of India and Bangladesh wants anyone to die on the border. Despite all this, killings are taking place at the border. It is sad for Bangladesh and even after talking so much that they are killing it is a shame for India.

Earlier, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen paid homage to the Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League by laying flowers at Bangabandhu’s tomb in Tungipara. Later, on 15 August 1975, Bangabandhu and the martyred members of the Bangabandhu family took part in Fateha recitation and special munajat seeking forgiveness of their souls. At this time Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League President Masuk Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Prof. Party leaders and workers including Zakir Hossain were present.
