POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 12, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the Naval Police personnel to serve with determination to earn public trust. He said, I hope that the naval police will be able to gain the public’s trust by improving their skills through modern technical training and gaining knowledge.
The Prime Minister said these things in a message given on the occasion of ‘Naval Police’s 9th Anniversary’. He expressed satisfaction knowing that the ‘9th anniversary of Naval Police’ is being celebrated today on Saturday.
Sheikh Hasina congratulated and congratulated all the members of the Naval Police on this occasion.
He said that Bangladesh Police Force has a glorious history in the great liberation war of 1971. The patriotic policemen of Rajarbagh Police Lines made the first armed resistance against the Pakistani forces on the night of March 25, 1971, responding to the timeless call of the greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Commemorating the brave policemen who sacrificed their lives in the Great War of Liberation with deep respect, the Prime Minister said that the Awami League government is taking all kinds of timely activities to develop the Bangladesh Police as a people-friendly modern technology-based institution capable of dealing with contemporary challenges such as cybercrime, militancy and counter-terrorism, money laundering etc. accepted
He said, as part of this, in the last 13 and a half years, the police force has formed six specialized units including anti-terrorism unit, cyber unit, naval police, four armed police battalions, three RAB battalions, two ranges, two metropolitan police, 63 police stations, 95 investigation centers and 30 In-service training center has been set up. A total of 82 thousand 927 posts including 1 thousand 529 cadre posts were created along with structural reform of almost all units of the police to strengthen the human resource management of the police with the aim of building a safe and peaceful country.
The Prime Minister pointed out that in this era of globalization and digitalization, criminals are using readily available technology and always adopting new strategies to spread their crimes internationally and regionally. In this regard, every phase of police operations is being digitized to keep pace with the world to meet the new challenges related to information and communication technology in this era of international, regional and local technology-based crime prevention and crime detection and the fourth industrial revolution.
Sheikh Hasina said that since the establishment of the Naval Police in 2013, this unit has been carrying out the duties assigned to them with professionalism and efficiency through the limited infrastructural facilities. At present, the Naval Police is playing an important role in improving the law and order situation of the inland waterways by carrying out round-the-clock duties, preserving the national resources of the river including hilsa, jatka and other aquatic resources, dealing with various natural disasters and preventing river pollution and protecting the navigability.
He expects that every member of the Naval Police, carrying the spirit of the Great Liberation War and motivated by the love of the country, will contribute to building a happy-rich golden Bangladesh of the dream of the father of the nation by carrying out the assigned duties with honesty, devotion, professionalism and skill.
The Prime Minister wished the overall success of all the programs undertaken on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Naval Police.
