POBNEWS24, Dhaka 7, 2024: Additional Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidur Rahman has been appointed as the Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
And Deputy Inspector General of Police has been appointed as Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Mainul Hasan.
This appointment was announced in a notification of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday.
Shahidur Rahman was serving in the police department. He is now the Director General of RAB. Succeeded Harun-or-Rashid. Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Harun-or-Rashid has been transferred to the Directorate of Police.
On the other hand, Mainul Hasan was serving in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police. He succeeded Habibur Rahman as Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Additional Inspector General of Police Habibur Rahman has been attached to the Directorate of Police.
The notification of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs said that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
Yesterday Tuesday night. Moinul Islam was appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP). He was in charge of Commandant (Additional IGP) Police Traffic and Driving School.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a separate notification canceling the contractual appointment of Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun as IGP. Last month, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun’s contract was extended by one year in the second phase. He was previously serving as IGP on contract for one and a half years.
