POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 4, 2022: State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said if parents do not speak fluently, children are not encouraged to speak fluently. So to teach children to speak correctly, parents need to be more aware.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Use of Bangla Language in Public Administration: Expectations, Realities and Actions” organized by the 24th BCS Administration Association on the occasion of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day on Wednesday.
The state minister said if we do not speak properly in front of the children, then they also feel embarrassed to speak properly.
Therefore, parents need to use language consciously to teach their children to speak properly. Teachers and parents have to play a leading role in instilling love and respect for the mother tongue in the children.
He further said that old style words and idioms are often used in public administration. As a result, users have difficulty understanding it. Therefore, it is important to choose modern and simple words. Clear and understandable language should be used in government communication so that people can easily understand it.
24th BCS Administration Association President. KM Ali Azam, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration addressed the function as special guest under the chairmanship of Nasir Uddin. Bangla Academy Award winning Professor Swarochish Sarkar was the keynote speaker at the event.
