POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 17, 2024 : The speakers said these things at a seminar organized by the Ecumenical Christian Trust (ECT) and the Inter-Religious Dialogue Commission, Dhaka, today (July 17). The seminar, organized at the CBCB Auditorium in Asadgate, Dhaka, was titled “Bangladesh of Peace, Harmony and Prosperity: Leadership of Trust”.
Dr. Milton Biswas, professor of Jagannath University and Chairman of Bangla Department, read the main article in the seminar. In the main article he said- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been able to set a shining example of communal harmony to the people of the whole world. At this time, people of all religions of the country are able to conduct their religious activities in complete harmony.
Father Luke Kakan Koraia of Inter-Religious Dialogue Commission, Dhaka Mahadharma Pradesh delivered the welcome address in the seminar. He said that his organization is working to find out how Bangladesh can move towards peace, prosperity and harmony.
In a brief speech, Jagannath University’s associate professor of history and researcher of Christianity SM Tanveer Ahmad said – If we look at the history of Bengal, we will see that in the past 500 years, Christianity has not been discussed in the same way as other religions have been discussed in the history of this region.
Bangabandhu researcher and media personality Md. Afizur Rahman said, ‘As a Bangabandhu researcher, I want to say that I do not find any shortage of Bangabandhu anywhere. I firmly believe, if Bangabandhu had lived, he would have received the Nobel Peace Prize. He called upon the next generation to move forward in the spirit of Bangabandhu, the father of the nation.
In the seminar, the speakers highlighted various aspects of peace and harmony and how Bangladesh is progressing towards prosperity. Dhaka University’s World Theology Department Professor Father Tapan de Rosario, ECT Chairman Rev. Emmanuel Mallick, ECT Trustee Board Treasurer John Sushant Biswas and media personality Mir Afroz Zaman also spoke on the occasion. At the end of the ceremony, ECT Chairman Reva: Emmanuel Mallick thanked God and prayed.
