POBNEWS24, Dhaka Dec 2, 2021 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the students to return to their educational institutions, saying it was not their job to vandalize vehicles. Members of the law enforcement agencies are continuing their efforts to bring the perpetrators under control.
Sheikh Hasina made the remarks while addressing a function at Bangladesh Shishu Academy on Wednesday morning to lay the foundation stone for a mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and a 12-storey state-of-the-art ‘Jayita Tower’ for women entrepreneurs in Dhanmondi.
The Prime Minister participated in the main event organized by the Ministry of Women and Children at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital through a video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban.
Mentioning that today’s children have to work for the country in the future after learning to read and write, the Prime Minister said, “It is not the job of the students to break the car down the road. Please go back to your educational institution and study. And those who are guilty must be punished. ‘ He added that the law enforcement agencies are very careful in this regard. Sheikh Hasina said those who will cause vandalism and arson in the future will be found out and punished. Because, if someone dies or burns in the car that is being set on fire, he will be severely punished. This should also be kept in mind.
He also directed to properly investigate the incident of pedestrian being killed in a garbage truck of Dhaka North and South City Corporation.
State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Begum Fazilatun Nesa Indira presided over the ceremony. Saidul Islam delivered the speech. Chairperson of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Lucky Inam and Managing Director of Jayita Foundation Afroza Khan also spoke.
