POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 20 2022 : Polio has been detected in two counties in upstate New York. The country’s Central for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a special warning.

Earlier this month, the first case of polio was reported in Rockland County. After that, it is known that the germs of the disease have spread to the neighboring Orange County.

The situation is such that experts have reported finding polio germs in water and sewage lines.

Statistics show that in the United States in the 1940s, an average of 35,000 people were infected with polio each year. In 1955, a vigorous four-dose vaccination program among children began in that country.

As a result, the disease was completely eradicated from the United States around 1979. However, explaining the reason behind the return of the disease, experts say that people still do not want to be vaccinated in some parts of the country. The situation has become complicated as some recent political issues have been linked with religious reasons.

Dr. has been providing health care in New York for about a decade and a half. Pratap Das. This expert doctor said that despite the severe outbreak of coronavirus, a class of people were not seen to get vaccinated in that country. Non-vaccination is also the reason behind the spread of polio.

Expressing concern about this, he said, polio vaccine has been tested and is effective up to 99 percent. As a result, it is possible to get rid of this crisis only if vaccination is ensured.

Various statistics show that the national vaccination rate in the United States is 93 percent. About 60 percent of people in Rockland and Orange counties are vaccinated. There are such images in many parts of the country. Because of which there is a fear of more crises in the future.

The CDC has issued a special alert not only for New York, but for the entire United States due to polio. Various initiatives have been taken. The CDC is looking for ways to deal with the crisis at this time. Special vaccination centers have been opened in affected areas. Children are given an additional dose.

Dr. Pratap Das says that three out of four people with polio have no symptoms. They can still spread the disease.

And here he is afraid. According to experts, polio symptoms like sore throat and headache are prone to be confused with other disease symptoms. Only one in 200 affected people is at risk of paralysis. And some of them die of not being able to breathe.

Sheikh Al Mamun, a high school teacher in New York, said that like other countries in the world, the impact of Covid-19 has not yet ended in America. Monkeypox is spreading fear on him. E-coli virus found in Michigan and Ohio In such a situation, students will return to school in September. Schools have already opened in some states. As a result, the authorities have to quickly find ways to solve the crisis.
