POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 17, 2021 :Dhaka, Mar 17 (UNI) A ten-day program has been organized at the National Parade Square to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence. The event was organized by the National Implementation Committee to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The event was officially inaugurated at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar National Parade Square on Wednesday (March 17) afternoon. President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohammed Solih attended the function.
The architect of independent Bangladesh, the undisputed leader of the Bengali nation was born on this day in 1920 in Tungipara of Gopalganj district to an aristocratic Muslim family. This day is also celebrated as National Children and Adolescent Day.
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebrations, the chief coordinator of the National Implementation Committee. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said, ‘On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17, 2021 and the golden jubilee of independence on March 26, a 10-day program has been organized under the theme’ Mujib Chirantan ‘as per the instructions of the Prime Minister.
The program will pay homage to Bangabandhu every day through separate themed discussion programs, cultural programs, audio-visual and other special presentations. The themes of the 10-day program are: ‘Bhengech Duaar Aesho Jyotirmoy’ on March 17, ‘Tarkajani of Mahakal’ on March 18, ‘Padma Jamuna on the Yatkal Robe’ on March 19, ‘Alokshikha of Youth’ on March 20, ‘Song of Life in Destruction’ on March 21 Mati Amar Mati ‘, March 23’ Women’s Liberation, Equality and Freedom ‘, March 24’ Pioneer of Peace-Liberation and Humanity ‘, March 25’ Journey of Night and Light of Genocide ‘and March 26′ Fifty Years of Independence and Golden Line of Progress’.
The ten-day program will feature Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on March 19, Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Vari on March 22, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Lotte Shering on March 24 and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 26.
This 5 day event will be attended by a limited number of 500 invited guests following the health rules. The other five-day program will also feature speeches by heads of state, heads of government, heads of international organizations and key figures. Each day’s program will be broadcast live on television channels, online media and social media.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the event tomorrow, followed by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on March 16 and OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on March 22, Pope Francis on March 24, South Korean Prime Minister Chung Soo-kwen and Osamu Hawa Kawa, son of Takashi Hawa Kawa, a close friend of Bangladesh, will speak on March 25.
