POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 13, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged foreign businessmen and entrepreneurs to choose Bangladesh for investment and sourcing. Because, Bangladesh is now the best investment destination. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made this call as the chief guest at the inauguration of ‘Made in Bangladesh Week-2022’ organized by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) this morning.
He said, ‘We are establishing 100 special economic zones across the country.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘I request the country’s business leaders to welcome foreign investment. You adopt their technology, knowledge in your industry sector. The Prime Minister said that the people of Bangladesh are the source of our courage. People are improving socio-economically and per capita income is increasing. 2 thousand 824 USD per capita income now. The purchasing power of the people of this country is also increasing. Our own market is being created. ‘
He said, ‘It is not enough to export, we have to create a market within our own country and during the Corona period, his government has done everything possible to allocate and provide money to the grassroots. As a result, people did not cry. ‘
The Prime Minister said, ‘We are hearing the footsteps of the fourth industrial revolution. Those who give labor are people of my Bangladesh, we want to develop them with better training. Because, now due to science, the world is moving forward with the new advent of technology. So technology has to be used. We need to develop skilled human resources to suit the 4th industrial revolution. That is why the government has taken steps and is also creating entrepreneurs. ‘
He said, ‘For the impact this 4th industrial revolution will have on our economy and employment, we have already started working on various measures. Our ready-to-wear industry needs to adopt augmented robotics technology, so we’re ready, we’re building. ‘
The Prime Minister said, ‘We have to inculcate this idea in people’s minds to keep up with the progress of technology, we will need skilled workers at home and abroad. We are providing training for them to be proficient in technology. He called upon the exporters of ready-made garments to increase their production as well as increase the quality of cloth and ensure a labor-friendly environment. ‘
The Prime Minister said, ‘His politics is for the farmers, workers and hardworking people of this country. Their welfare is most important to me. He also emphasized on harnessing the skills, competencies and talents of our vast workforce. ‘
The Prime Minister emphasized to achieve self-sufficiency in food again and said, ‘We have to provide food security to more than 16.5 crore people. But we don’t want to beg from anyone. I will produce my own food. That’s why we are taking measures to protect cropland, not to develop excessive industries and to develop environmentally friendly industries. ‘
The week-long event kicked off with the theme ‘Care for Fashion’ at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) Hall of Fame. It will continue till November 18. The main objective of this event is to promote ‘Made in Bangladesh’. BGMEA wants to maintain its market share and increase the market share of Bangladeshi garments in the global market. The week-long mega event will provide an opportunity for partners across the global value chain to work together to address global challenges.
