POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 20, 2026 : Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to all Muslims around the world, including the countrymen. He hopes that this festival will further strengthen the bond of national unity, mutual harmony and compassion.
He expressed this expectation in a message sent to the media on Friday (March 20) on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the message, the Prime Minister said, “On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings and Eid Mubarak to all Muslims around the world, including the countrymen.” Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two biggest religious festivals of Muslims. After a month-long fasting and restraint, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr brings a message of joy, peace, harmony and brotherhood to our lives.
Stating that “the holy month of Ramadan teaches a unique lesson of restraint, sacrifice, service and self-purification,” he said, fasting for a month teaches us to be self-restraint and to feel the pain of others. Through this, the spirit of compassion and mutual cooperation is awakened in the society.
He believes that the true significance of Eid is to reflect the teachings of Ramadan in the life of the individual, family, society and the state.
The Prime Minister called on us to forget all the differences between rich and poor, small and big, and to be bound by the bond of mutual love and brotherhood.
Tareque Rahman said, on this joyful day, let us stand by the helpless, poor and underprivileged people of the society and share the joy of Eid with everyone. We hope that the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will further strengthen the bond of our national unity, mutual harmony and compassion.
He said, Let us work together to build a humane, developed, peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh inspired by the great ideals of Eid. I pray to Almighty Allah that He may shower the joy, mercy and blessings of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in all our lives. May Allah Almighty lead our country and nation to the path of peace, progress, and prosperity and ensure the welfare of the entire Muslim Ummah.
