By Mir Afroz Zaman, POBNEWS24, Dhaka, 20,2021 : Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka said this on Sunday (June 20).
In a message, the Prime Minister of India said that in 2014, the United Nations recognized June 21 as International Yoga Day. This year, Yoga Day will be celebrated for the seventh time worldwide. However, like last year, the day has come in the time of epidemic Covid.
Our warriors are fighting this epidemic against Covid. There has been positive progress against the epidemic since the International Yoga Day last year. Medical science has understood the nature of this virus. We are protecting the people through several vaccines to fight the epidemic. I am hopeful that very soon humanity will be victorious against the epidemic. Modi said.
Narendra Modi said the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Wellness’. Yoga keeps our mind and body well. Covid can infect any person, but yoga can help prevent disease by increasing energy in the body.
Yoga Day is being celebrated in Bangladesh every year. A large number of people have taken part in the Yoga Day program at the Bangabandhu National Stadium for several years. I am sure your government will continue to support the celebration of this day. I wish you, your family and your people good health.
Note that International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June every year.
