As of February 22, 2,754 sanctions had been imposed on Russia, according to the site. Two days later, in the days following the attack on Ukraine, 26 more sanctions were imposed.
The total number of sanctions has risen to five thousand 532.
With this, Russia has surpassed the 3,618 sanctions imposed on Iran and placed it at the top of the list.
The main source of sanctions on Russia is the United States. They have imposed 21 percent. This is followed by the combined 17 per cent of the United Kingdom and the EU.
Many countries around the world have imposed trade sanctions on Russia to increase pressure on Moscow to stop its attacks on Ukraine.
