POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 30, 2022 : Shashi Tharoor will contest the election for the Congress president. The Thiruvananthapuram Member of Parliament himself fueled the already ongoing speculations.
Tharoor took up the pen for the Malayalam daily Matrubhoomi and raised the demand for free vote in the grand old party. Seeing what many are saying – this time his target is the post of Congress President.
This Congress leader will soon announce the decision whether to contest the polls or not. Shashi Tharoor is one of the 23 disgruntled leaders who wrote to Sonia Gandhi in 2020 seeking organizational reforms in the Congress.
After the announcement of the date of election of the Congress president, another question of organizational reforms was asked by the Congress MPs. He wrote in the Malayalam Daily that the election of a new president is very necessary for the revival of the Congress.
So what will fight for the position of Congress president? However, Shashi has not opened his mouth to answer that question.
