POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 25, 2021 : Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Secretary General of BNP has alleged that the government has looted democracy by establishing a ‘disguised’ one-party system of governance in the country.
The BNP secretary general made the allegation to reporters after laying a wreath at Ziaur Rahman’s grave on Wednesday afternoon.
He said, “The Awami League speaks of the spirit of the liberation war but in reality they never believed in the spirit of the liberation war.
This party, who consider themselves the sole bearers of the liberation war, who have been talking about the liberation war all the time, have destroyed the spirit of the liberation war the most today. The hopes and aspirations of the people have been shattered. They have robbed, destroyed and looted the democracy that we all fought for. ”
Fakhrul complained, “Numerous freedom fighters lost their lives in the hands of Awami League after 1972.
They are lying in the name of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, they are spreading propaganda, they are spreading propaganda in the name of Begum Khaleda Zia and they are trampling all the aspirations of the liberation war. ”
On the occasion of the 29th founding anniversary of the Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party, President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat and General Secretary Sadek Ahmed Khan, BNP Freedom Fighters Affairs Secretary Joynal Abedin and 10/15 leaders and activists laid a wreath at the grave of BNP Secretary General Ziaur Rahman at 2 pm.
