POBNEWS24, Desk Report Dhaka Aug 23, 2022 : RAB has arrested six people, including the former principal of a nursing college, on the charge of leaking the question papers of the B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic) examination of nursing colleges affiliated to Dhaka University. They were arrested last Sunday night from Mohakhali, Dhanmondi and Azimpur areas of the capital. The arrested persons are Farida Khatun (51), Monowara Khatun (52), Nargis Parveen (47), Kohinoor Begum (65), Ismail Hossain (38) and Ariful Islam (37), the mastermind of the question paper leak ring.

RAB officials say that Farida Khatun, a trainer of a nursing college in Mohakhali, formed this circle with some of the former and current teachers of the nursing college and the officials involved in preparing the question papers.

This cycle has leaked multiple question papers of nursing exams in the last five years. They used to sell question papers to the candidates for 15 thousand rupees.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of Law and Media Branch of RAB, said in a press conference at Karwan Bazar RAB Media Center in the capital on Monday afternoon, that the information about the exchange of question papers was obtained through social media before the first year final B.Sc. goes The delegation of Dhaka University recovered pictures of question papers and handwritten question papers on white paper from the mobile phones of the students of a nursing college. After receiving the complaint, RAB arrested these six members of the gang.

The director of RAB said that the accused were members of a secret team engaged in printing and packing the question papers selected from the question paper preparation committee, moderators and deans of various examinations of nursing colleges. Because of this, they used to leak questions easily.

Referring to the interrogation, Khandaker Al Moin said that out of 98 nursing colleges under Dhaka University (DU), examinations are currently underway in 38 colleges. To maintain the confidentiality of the question papers, two question makers from Dhaka University were first appointed, who provided two sets of separate question papers. A team of moderators is then appointed to scrutinize these papers, whose job it is to prepare a complete set of papers for examination from the papers and submit them to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine through Silgala. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine appoints a team of four members to deliver the question papers of various examination centers; Those engaged in the printing and packaging of the selected question paper print the question paper as per the requirement of the examination center and seal it by writing the name of the center in separate packets. Later, the Dhaka University authorities distributed those question papers to different centers. Copies of question papers are removed during this process.

Director of RAB said Farida Khatun is the master of question paper leak. He has been a trainer in Comprehensive Nursing and Pathophysiology at Mohakhali for almost 10 years. Besides teaching, he is responsible for printing and packaging of various examination papers. Nargis and Manwara Begum are among his associates. They have been leaking the question papers of various examinations of the institution under the guise of teaching. Arrested Farida is one of four member confidential team selected by Dean of Faculty of Medicine in BSc in Nursing (Post Basic) First Year Final Examination. Manwara and Nargis are also instructors in a nursing college for about 10 years. They were also members of the secret team engaged in printing and packing the question papers selected by the moderators and deans of various examination question papers of nursing colleges.

Kohinoor Begum was a nursing instructor at a government nursing college in Dhaka since 2008. After retiring in 2016, joined a private nursing college as Principal. Ismail Hossain is a senior staff nurse in a nursing college in the capital and Arif is a student in a nursing college in Dhaka. They collected the question papers from Kohinoor Begum on August 20 and delivered them to the students in exchange of money. Arif was arrested and jailed for the crime of leaking the question paper of Senior Staff Nurse Recruitment 2017.

Khandaker Al Moin said, ‘We have learned the names of some other members of the gang, and the authorities of Dhaka University have been informed about them. University authorities cooperated wholeheartedly in arresting the gang members. ‘
