POBNEWS24, Dhaka, May 2, 2022 : A terrible fire broke out at Hawkers Market on the banks of Laldighi in Sylhet city. The fire broke out in the market on Sunday (May 1) at around 4:15 pm.
It is learned that there are hundreds of shops in Hawkers Market area. The fire has spread to several lanes of the market.
The amount of fire in the 5th lane is more. Nine units of the fire brigade are working to control the fire. News has been reported in the nearby stations. Meanwhile, the fire service unit of Osmaninagar upazila has joined.
The fire is expected to cause damage to several crores of rupees. Many traders of the market rushed to the spot on the news of the fire. They are crying helplessly. Some are trying to help the fire service personnel in various ways.
When contacted, the control room of the fire service Sylhet said that 9 units are currently working to put out the fire. Units at nearby stations have also been told they are coming.
