Speaker before this. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury chaired the working advisory committee meeting at 3 pm. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition party leaders and members of the committee will be present. In this meeting, the working day of the session and the nomination of members of the presidium will be given.
Awami League’s parliamentary deputy leader will be nominated in this parliamentary session. The post became vacant after the death of Awami League presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury.
Meanwhile, as the first session of the year, the President. Abdul Hamid will address the first day of the session. Later, a general discussion will be held on the motion of thanks on his speech. Finally, the motion of thanks will be adopted by the National Assembly.
Before this, the President Abdul Hamid convened this session with the powers given in Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution. There is a constitutional obligation to convene another session within 60 days after the conclusion of one session. Accordingly, the 21st session of the 11th National Parliament will begin on January 5 at 4:00 PM in the Parliament Chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan located in Sherebangla Nagar, Dhaka. The 20th session of the Parliament ended on November 6.
