POBNEWS24.Net, Dhaka, Mar 11, 2021:In the first match of the three-match ODI series, the host West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to take a 1-0 lead. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 232 in the match that started in the evening Bangladesh time on Wednesday. In reply, Pollard reached the port of victory after losing only 2 wickets in Shy Hope’s century.
Hope played an innings of 110 runs from 133 balls. This is his tenth century in ODIs. Evin Lewis scored 75 runs. Darren Bravo (36) and Jason Mohammad (13) left the field unbeaten.
Earlier, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 232 with one over left after winning the toss. Danushka Gunathilaka (55), Dimuth Koranaratne (52) and Ashen Bandara (50) played the innings.
Jason Holder and Jason Mohammed took two wickets each for the Caribbean. Kieron Pollard, Alzari Joseph and Fabian Allen took 1 wicket each.
