More than a thousand Muslims participated in the Iftar and Tarabi prayers held on Saturday (April 2), the first day of Ramadan. The video of Tarabi’s prayers and Iftar went viral through social media. In it, the worshipers were seen praying in the streets.
According to US-based TV channel CBS News, the organizers of this exceptional event distributed 1,500 Iftar meals among the worshipers present. In addition to various cities in the United States, worshipers from Montreal, Canada also come to attend this memorable event in Times Square. They recite the Holy Qur’an and highlight the significance of the month of Ramadan.
One of the participants in the event told CBS Channel, “We are here to tell people about our religion who know nothing about Islam. Basically Islam is a religion of peace. ‘
One of the organizers of the UK-based news outlet Middle East IK said he hoped the scene of the congregational prayers would help non-Muslims learn about Islam.

Meanwhile, the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt, posted a picture of the prayers on its Facebook page, saying, “For the first time, free iftar is being distributed among worshipers in New York’s Times Square. ‘
