POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 16, 2021: In Kushtia’s Bheramara, a young man was hammered by tying a rope to a tree in the local market. He was admitted to Kushtia General Hospital with serious injuries.
The injured youth was identified as Liton Pramanik (38). He is the son of Nabir Uddin of Mirzapur village in Bheramara upazila. He was defeated in the second round by being elected as a member of the Union Parishad. He works for the boat candidate. Awami League’s ‘rebel’ candidate has won in that UP. Lytton alleges he was hammered by supporters of the newly elected chairman. However, police say Liton was beaten because of a dispute over money owed.
He was tied to a tree with a rope and beaten with a hammer at 10:30 am on Sunday at the local Mirzapur market. He was admitted to Kushtia General Hospital. He is being treated in Ward No. 3 (Paying Ward).
On Monday afternoon, Liton was seen in agony. Doctors said Lytton had multiple bruises on both sides of his body with hard objects.
Lytton said he was sitting on a fish farm last Sunday morning. Hasanuzzaman, a supporter of the chairman at the time. Led by Fardes, 10 to 12 people picked him up from his fish farm. He was hammered while taking the easybike. At one stage he went to Mirzapur market and was tied with a rope to a tree. When they went to rescue his father, they also beat him and left him.

Bheramara Police Station OC Mojibur Rahman said there was a long-standing dispute with Liton over the sale of land to some people in the area. One person has got Rs 50,000 from Liton. The incident of beating in dispute. There is no election here.
