Millions of people around the world will welcome the new year in the shadow of the coronavirus epidemic. A number of instructions have been issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on the occasion of the English New Year celebrations.
The directive also requested that no events be held in the open space to welcome the English New Year on Thirty First Night.
It is said that due to the epidemic coronavirus, all kinds of ceremonies are being held in a limited way in different countries. On Thirty First Night, the city dwellers are requested to observe the prescribed programs in different areas of the capital in compliance with the hygienic rules.
In the interest of overall safety and law and order in the Dhaka metropolis, no gatherings or gatherings or celebrations should be held at road junctions, flyovers, streets and in open spaces and no ceremonies, rallies, dances, songs and cultural events should be held on the occasion of New Year celebrations in open spaces. The directive also says that no fireworks or crackers of any kind can be fired anywhere.
On the occasion of ‘Christian New Year-2022’, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conveyed sincere greetings and congratulations to the people in separate messages.
The President said that although the Bengali New Year is closely associated with our culture, the Christian calendar is widely used in practical life. AD is therefore inextricably linked with the daily life of the nation.
He said that although colorful events are organized all over the world including Bangladesh to welcome the New Year every year, the mood of this year’s festival has faded away like last year due to the Corona epidemic.
The President said that corona infection is now under control in Bangladesh but in view of the spread of new variants of corona worldwide, there is no alternative but to take precautionary measures.
