POBNEWS24,Dhaka Dec 29, 2021: The lorry split in a head-on collision with the Turna Nishitha Express train at Kumira in Chittagong. The accident took place in Kumira area of Sitakunda on Tuesday (December 26) at around 12:15 pm.
The lorry was twisted in the accident and the railing of the engine of the train was broken. No casualties were reported. Later an engine left Chittagong and took the train to Dhaka. The Dhaka-Chittagong rail link was closed for an hour.
According to Railway Police sources, the Turna Nishitha train left Battali station in Chittagong for Dhaka at around 11 pm. The train collided with a lorry while crossing the pocket gate of Kumira area of Sitakunda. This caused the lorry to twist and break the railing of the train engine. After bringing another engine from Chittagong, the train left for Dhaka again after an hour.
