POBNEWS24,Dhaka Apr 22, 2023 : The largest Eid congregation in the capital was held at the National Eidgah. Mufti Ruhul Amin, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, led the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah grounds. The National Eidgah was filled to the brim with worshipers. Maulana Syed Wahiduzzaman is present as an alternate imam. The main congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the National Eidgah adjacent to the High Court.
President Abdul Hamid offered Eid prayers at the National Eidgah. Apart from this, the chief justice, judges of both divisions of the Supreme Court, members of the cabinet, foreign diplomats, heads of various forces, important persons of the state and ordinary Muslims also offer Eid prayers.
Thousands of people from different areas of the capital came to the National Eidgah Maidan from morning. Crossing four levels of security checks, worshipers entered the National Eidgah in long queues.
Preparations for the main Eid congregation were made at the National Eidgah under the overall supervision of the Dhaka South City Corporation. According to City Corporation, 35,000 people can pray at the national Eidgah in the main pandal of 25,400 square meters. However, more worshipers participated in the main Eid Jamaat than this. Hundreds of worshipers offered Eid prayers on the street in front of the National Eidgah, adjacent to the High Court, without getting a place in the National Eidgah Maidan.
A special prayer was offered from the main Eid congregation wishing for the welfare and peace of the country and the people and the Muslim Ummah. After the Eid prayer, according to the traditional tradition, everyone makes kolakuli.
