The melody was heard at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Thousands of spectators sang songs of famous artists who took part in the ‘Cricket Celebrities Mujib 100’ concert organized on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Popular band Miles performed songs in the first episode of the evening. After that, popular musician Mumtaz, the queen of Bengali music, rose on the stage.
AR Rahman will take the stage in the second part of the five-hour long concert. He will rock the stage from 8pm to 11pm. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, will appear at the venue at 7 pm.
Meanwhile, a stage has been constructed over a large part of Mirpur Stadium. Seating for tens of thousands of visitors in front of the stage. 10,000 spectators will be able to enjoy the live concert sitting on the main ground of the stadium. Tickets have been sold in three categories. The minimum price has been set at one thousand rupees. Apart from this, you can get Gold at Tk 5,000 and Platinum category tickets at Tk 10,000.
It is to be mentioned that AR Rahman, a well known composer, music director and vocalist of Bangladesh Mataben subcontinent will perform in this concert. Famous artists of the country will also sing in this concert organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The concert is sponsored by Bashundhara Group, a leading industrial group in the country. The entire program is being broadcast live by the private satellite channel Newstwentyfour. On the occasion of the concert, AR Rahman came to Dhaka last Sunday with more than a hundred traveling companions.
