POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Apr 3, 2022 : The Padma Multipurpose Bridge will be opened to traffic by next June, said Obaidul Quader, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of the Awami League.
He made the remarks at a meeting to review the progress of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project in the conference room of the bridge department here on Sunday (April 3) morning.
Obaidul Quader said the actual progress of the main work of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project has been 98 percent, the actual progress of river management work has been 90.50 percent and the overall progress of the project has been 92 percent. The progress of carpeting work of the main bridge is 75.6 percent.
Apart from this, the progress of laying gas pipeline has been 99 percent and the progress of laying 400 KVA power line has been 79 percent, he said.
Secretary of the bridge and the executive director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority. Manzur Hossain chaired the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam, Project Director. Shafiqul Islam and senior officials of the bridge department and concerned authorities were present.
